Onsite LHS classes and camps
LHS offers school year science enrichment courses and summer camp programs that can inspire young minds and stimulate a life long interest in science, math or technology. Classes feature hands-on experiences in disciplines as varied as:
- chemistry
- math
- biology
- physics
- astronomy
Our programs encourage children to explore their natural curiosity through multiple and varied opportunities to experiment, make discoveries, and work with peers to solve real scientific questions in ways that working scientists do. Our popular parent participation classes promote the idea that when parents share in the learning experience with their child, they can make many delightful and important discoveries together.

Teens Exploring and Achieving in Math and Science (TEAMS)
TEAMS is a multi-year youth program that engages kids aged 12 to 18 by giving them the resources and background to lead visitors to LHS in hands-on science activities. LHS instructors and UC students provide training and career awareness experiences to TEAMS interns. Each January, new participants are recruited to participate in TEAMS’ volunteer internships, work-based positions, activities with other teens, and educational experiences that support pathways to college.
