Check Out Science at home!
Check Out Science helps you take reading to a whole new level with books and activities that show you what real scientists know and do. Check Out Science kits will be available at the Berkeley and Oakland libraries. You and your budding scientist read a nonfiction book from our Seeds of Science/Roots of Reading curriculum, then follow the instructions on the included activity card. As you do the activity, your scientist can record thoughts, questions, and results in the Check Out Science notebook that is yours to keep. Most of the activities allow you to record your results and do more activities on the LHS Kids web site.
Currently there are four Check Out Science kits, but more are on the way! Check them out!
Already checked one out? Take our survey and tell us how we did!
