The Lawrence Hall of Science (LHS), the public science museum of University of California, Berkeley, has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Senior Digital Producer. You will be working in a fun group of professionals dedicated to developing innovative multimedia solutions that enhance math and science learning.

Requirements & Qualifications:


• Manage a wide range of web, museum exhibit, and handheld technology projects run by the technology group at LHS, including a new, national effort to build an online, digital library of science and math activities
• Bring creativity and inspiration to move projects from inception to implementation
• Select, train, supervise, motivate and evaluate professional and support technology staff including developers, artists, editors, and students
• Serve as an advisor on all aspects of multimedia technology at LHS
• Ensure production of high quality technology deliverables within timeline and budget
• Assist the department director in navigating the direction and future of the group
Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
• Knowledge of all aspects of multimedia technology, including design concepts, various media, media production, applications, and strategic planning
• Knowledge of the current trends and potential future developments in multimedia technology
• Knowledge and skills in financial and personnel administration and management techniques, including understanding of guiding principles, hiring, training, and best practices
• Good project management and strategic planning skills
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
• Good analytical and critical thinking skills
• Good problem recognition, avoidance, and resolution skills

Preferred
• Master's degree, or professional experience in educational and/or multimedia technology is preferred
• Experience with grant proposal development and administration for federal agencies and/or foundations
• Working knowledge of the Drupal content management system
• Knowledge of digital libraries and relevant tools and services
• Experience and familiarity with project management tools
•Experience and familiarity with K-12 educational needs and practices

 

Salary Range:

$54,204.00 - $77,808.00 Annual

First Review Date:

June 11, 2008

This is a 1 year contract position with the possibility of extension depending upon funding.
