Now Open: Imaginate
February 4 – April 29, 2012
Turn imagination into innovation. Visit this extraordinary exhibition that builds on some of the Hall’s most popular activities and includes many new ones.
Explore what happens when creativity combines with science. Test new ideas and discover how innovation can take us on a journey to unexplored frontiers. See what you can do.
Be an Innovator
Produce your own short film with the technology and methods of stop-motion animation. Watch a stop-motion animation.
Play air hockey, create fireworks, and more with interactive projections on the floor. See what happens when your actions trigger the projection to change.
What happens when you no longer look like yourself? Engineer your face using other people’s facial features and see what you can look like.
Get Inspired
Try on different wing shapes and see if you can take off in flight. Do different shapes affect your ability to fly?
Create a musical masterpiece with sound panels. Use rhythm, feelings, patterns, and the influence of others to turn sound into music.
Build something new out of unexpected materials in a space that is part tinkerer’s workshop and part artist’s studio.
Build a Better World
See the grassroots innovations that are making the world a better place. From bicycle powered blenders to water transportation devices, innovation helps us survive.
Innovation happens when we collaborate and cross between disciplines and subjects. In Imaginate dream big, expect the unexpected, collaborate and compete, try, try and try again, and look into the world of imagination and innovation.
