DESCRIPTION:This free educator workshop provides K–12 teachers the opportunity to learn about the National Marine Educators Association (NMEA) Ocean Literacy Framework.    Join us to gain a deeper understanding of teaching and learning about the ocean using high-leverage\, evidence-based practices. The workshop will help educators develop the expertise to use ocean literacy tools while also aligning with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and other principles and standards\, including Transformative Education. Plus\, experience activities focused on ocean-atmosphere interactions and your local environment.    Register by November 5 to secure your spot! Participants will get:     	A  copy of A Handbook for Increasing Ocean Literacy: Tools for Educators and other Ocean Advocates   	Morning and afternoon snacks and coffee (lunch will not be provided)   	Free entrance to the California Academy of Sciences (workshop includes free exploration time in the Academy and Aquarium)
