We have needed a restroom on our main floor since we opened in 1968. The original design for The Lawrence Hall of Science included a public restroom on the main floor, as well as six additional exhibition halls, but for a variety of reasons this later phase was never started.

Now, after more than 50 years of directing visitors downstairs when they need a restroom, we are adding a new restroom on our main level. This new restroom has been designed with features that are essential to serving our visitors, including up-to-date accessibility, space for family use, and gender inclusivity. Now under construction, this new addition will help our facility be a more family-friendly and welcoming space.
