A fundamental aspect of science learning is sharing your thinking and reasoning by articulating how evidence supports or refutes your ideas. This cultivates an understanding of how scientists do their work and deepens comprehension of concepts. In this workshop we’ll explore high-leverage practices to support emergent multilingual students (EMLs) in communicating the richness of their thinking as equal contributors to classroom discourse. Video case studies and resources for immediate classroom application will be introduced.
