Improving Practice Together (IPT)

Sara leads instrument design and data analysis for a variety of projects at the Lawrence Hall of Science, including evaluations of multiple science education programs. As an Evaluation Coordinator, Sara contributed to data collection, survey design, and analysis. Before joining the Research Group at the Lawrence, Sara oversaw grant evaluations for a mid-sized education foundation. Her prior professional experience also includes managing informal education programs. Sara holds a B.A. in Social Studies from Harvard University and is pursuing an M.A. in Computing in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Sara Allan coordinates data collection activities and contributes to instrument design, data analysis, and reporting across a variety of projects at the Lawrence. She also manages the Research Group’s team of Student Research Assistants. Prior to joining the Research Group, Sara led impact evaluations of nonprofit programs for an international foundation and conducted grant-funded independent research studies on topics in early childhood education. Her previous professional experience also includes education program management, curriculum development, and the design of computer-based instructional materials and assessments. Sara holds a B.A. in Social Studies with a focus field in Education Equity from Harvard University and is pursuing an M.A. in Computing in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
