Activity
Most of the time, we don’t have to think about breathing. In fact, you’re probably breathing right now without thinking about it! In this activity, learners will make their own model of a lung using simple materials and discover how lungs bring air into a body and push it out. The model also lets learners investigate the effects of asthma. Step-by-step instructions are included with photos along with safety recommendations. Activity guide includes a “What’s going on?” explanation and connections to relevant science concepts like the function of a diaphragm, air pressure, and asthma, using helpful diagrams.
