We collaborate with a range of partners to innovate in science education. Together, we go further.
Amplify Science is research-driven, digitally enhanced core curriculum for Grades K-8 that comprehensively addresses the vision described in the NRC Framework for K-12 Science Education, including the three dimensions of the Next Generation Science Standards. Students inhabit the role of scientists and engineers throughout each unit. Through rich, multi-modal experiences and authentic problem-solving, Amplify Science will help teachers develop the next generation of students to be critical scientists and thoughtful citizens.
All BEETLES (Better Environmental Education, Teaching, Learning & Expertise Sharing) resources are based on current research and understandings about how people learn, and tested by dozens of programs in diverse settings all over the country (and beyond!). Although BEETLES materials have been designed for residential outdoor science schools, they’ve been snatched up and used successfully in a wide variety of outdoor science education settings.
FOSS (Full Option Science System) is a research-based science curriculum for grades K-8 developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science, University of California, Berkeley. FOSS has evolved from a philosophy of teaching and learning that has guided the development of successful active-learning science curricula for more than 40 years. The FOSS Program bridges research and practice by providing tools and strategies to engage students and teachers in enduring experiences that lead to deeper understanding of the natural and designed worlds.
MARE: Marine Activities, Resources & Education is a program based at the University of California, Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science that seeks to increase literacy in ocean sciences through informal and formal education initiatives.
SEPUP (The Science Education for Public Understanding Program) creates innovative science curriculum for use in 6-12 education. Issue-oriented science forms the core of SEPUP’s curriculum materials. Every unit uses personal and societal issues to provide thematic continuity for student investigations and observations. SEPUP is part of UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science. Our materials are exclusively distributed by Lab-Aids.
OBIS is an outdoor program that offers young people fun and challenging opportunities to investigate ecological relationships in their local environment.
Hands-on Biotech focuses on discovering the microscopic worlds inside all living things and sparking curiosity about how life’s processes can help us answer questions and solve problems.
