Explore insect science, artificial intelligence, and more at The Lawrence this Spring Break! From March 29–April 6, we’ll be open every day with engaging hands-on science and dazzling special events. Celebrate Women’s History Month with the Society of Women Engineers, test out new artificial intelligence experiences, and explore Future of Food, our newest exhibit. Plus, discover the intersection of art and science with a fiery sculpture from returning favorites the Flaming Lotus Girls! Serenity by Flaming Lotus Girls Saturday, March 29–Sunday, April 6, 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Witness an awe-inspiring fusion of art and engineering from Oakland’s own Flaming Lotus Girls! Serenity is a larger-than-life firefly sculpture that burns with real fire and flickers with LED lights. Step up to the controls and learn about bioluminescence, energy, and the mechanics of fire. Prototyping AI Activities Friday, March 28; Sunday, March 30; Tuesday, April 1; Thursday, April 3, 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Discover how AI solves problems like facial recognition, data sorting, and even joke telling in our Virtually Human exhibition. Then, make your voice heard in our community engagement sessions. You’ll get to test early prototypes of future AI museum experiences, meet the team behind the exhibit, and share your thoughts as we shape the future of AI learning together. Engineering with the Society of Women Engineers Saturday, March 29, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Celebrate women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and math during the last Saturday of Women’s History Month!
