Corinne Calhoun(she/her) contributes to the Center for Environmental Learning’s research and professional learning projects by supporting program ideation, design, and implementation. She develops learner and nature-centered activities that are used nationally and promote equitable, inclusive, and culturally responsive environmental learning experiences and enjoys contributing to the many CEL projects that advance systems level changes. Corinne’s professional background is in informal outdoor science education and accessible outdoor recreation. As an educator, sea kayak and white water rafting guide, and challenge course facilitator, she supported nature connection, environmental learning, social emotional learning, and team/community building with youth of all ages and adults with disabilities. Corinne’s passion for her work stems from her lifelong love of science and spending time near, in, on, and under water. She believes in the necessity of time spent (re)connecting with nature for the impact it can have on personal, community, social, and environmental healing. Corinne received her B.A. in Environmental Biology from Pomona College in Claremont CA.
