The Lawrence Hall of Science has developed several fun and educational mobile applications. We’re proud to announce that our apps reached a significant milestone. Since 2012 when our first app went live on the Apple App Store, our apps have reached a cumulative total of over 1 million downloads!
Our apps have been featured in both the Education and Kids sections of the App Store, as well as on the front page. They have also won several awards, including the Digital Ehon Award and the Serious Play Award.
Support from grants through the Science Education Partnership Award program of the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and NASA have made the development of the apps possible. The apps are a great way to access engaging science-learning activities from anywhere!
The DIY Sun Science app enables families and educators to investigate and learn about the Sun at home, at school, or anywhere you go! The app provides 13 free, easy to use, hands-on activities, plus images, videos, and much more. Each activity includes material lists, step-by-step instructions, and detailed explanations.
I Got This is an interactive, first-person, educational story that follows a young teenage girl who discovers that she has type 2 diabetes, one of the fastest-growing diseases in the U.S. and around the world. Monster Heart Medic is an educational adventure game that explores the cardiovascular system and how it is affected by healthy living.
