Boost your science​ communication skills with practical strategies that make complex ideas accessible, engaging, and relevant for diverse learners and public audiences.

This session explores tools for translating scientific concepts, supporting​ learning, sparking curiosity, fostering trust through responsive communication​, and building real connections across classrooms, museums, and community settings. You’ll leave with ​fresh, ready-to-use techniques you can apply immediately to strengthen engagement, spark curiosity, help learners connect science to their everyday lives​, ​a​nd transform scientific concepts into experiences that truly resonate and invite deeper engagement​ with science.

Facilitated by Dione Rossiter, Executive Director of Science at Cal.

Dione (Dee) Rossiter is a Science Communication, Engagement, and Outreach Specialist who has previously worked with non-profits, universities, government offices, and for-profit businesses to improve their science engagement efforts. Dee received her bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and her Ph.D. from UC Santa Cruz, both in Earth & Planetary Sciences.
