Taking Science Learning Outdoors Price: $0.00 Sessions: 1 session Workshop Schedule #1 Thursday, May 14, 2026 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM PT Enrollment Required Please log in to check your access. In this introductory session, we will examine critical features of the research that shows that outdoor learning improves student achievement, health, wellness, and connection to nature. We will also provide examples and practical steps that help make teaching and learning outdoors seamless with other STEM curricula and programs. This is the first of a series of offerings for PK-5 teachers and instructional coaches interested in integrating science with other subject areas in ways that are mutually supportive. Science provides an engaging context for developing language, literacy, computational thinking, and social-emotional learning, and for integrating content learning in mathematics, social studies, indigenous knowledge, and the arts. Throughout the 2026-2027 school year, we will explore the integration of science with these areas and provide tools for planning lessons, units, and year-long approaches. If you require accommodation for a disability for effective communication (ASL interpreting/CART captioning, alternative media formats, etc.) or information about campus mobility access features in order to fully participate in this event, please contact us via email with as much advance notice as possible and at least 7-10 days in advance of the event.
