Join us for the Climate Adaptation Science Fair at KQED’s new headquarters in San Francisco. Discover how we can adapt our homes and communities to keep up with the changing climate. Learn about home electrification, housing density projects, cooling paint, and how one little poppy is popping up in the wake of fires. The Lawrence On-The-Go team will provide an interactive water engineering activity for children ages 5 and up. Participants will design and test cityscapes with the goal of retaining stormwater and preventing flooding. Science at Cal has recruited scientists from across the university to join the event. Each scientist will be paired with a hands-on activity to help attendees engage with the scientist’s research. At booths centered around the climate adaption theme, adults will have the unique opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussions with Cal scientists and KQED reporters. This is a great chance to learn and ask questions. Snacks and drinks are included.
