Learn how Artificial Intelligence acts like a human in this summer pop-up exhibit!
Virtually Human is temporarily relocated to A-level for the summer.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere: in our homes, phones, and cars. How can these AIs act like humans, and how are they different? Engage in an interactive artificial intelligence experience to explore how computers can interpret facial expressions just like humans do. Experiment with the AI to see how it is—and isn’t!—smart.
How can AI perceive human emotion? In Mirror Mirror, explore the AI’s ability to detect and interpret your facial expressions and associated emotions. Then, put your skills to the test and sort facial expressions using our Face Expression Photo Cubes. Try the Mirror Mirror activity at home!
How can AI find patterns in data? In Teach Me Silly, train the AI to recognize your silly faces and distinguish them from your serious face. Then, see how well you do at pattern recognition by sorting fingerprints into different types in Fingerprint Classification. Try the Teach Me Silly activity at home!
How can AI change your appearance? In Face Paint, discover how AI can create a “digital disguise” using technology similar to social media photo filters.
Can AI tell if its jokes landed? In Comedy Corner, listen to an AI comedian tell jokes and watch as it tries to perceive whether or not you liked the joke. Then, step over to Is It Funny? to tell your own jokes and explore the signals you use to determine if your friends and family found them funny.
How does AI learn by trial and error? Watch a video showing an animated robot learning to walk by trial and error alongside a video of babies and puppies taking their first steps. Then, put your trial-and-error skills to the test with a partner in Hot or Cold.
