Emily Reigh is an instructor in the Berkeley Teacher Education Program and a postdoctoral researcher on the Writing Data Stories project at the University of California, Berkeley. Broadly, her research focuses on designing science learning environments that engage and sustain the cultural and linguistic practices of students from minoritized communities. Her most recent work with the California Science Project focuses on supporting elementary teachers in developing instructional practices and tools to support multilingual learners in their classrooms. Before embarking on her graduate studies, Emily spent a decade teaching science in a public high school in Oklahoma and an international high school in Cairo, Egypt. She holds a Ph.D. in Science Education and Race, Inequality, and Language in Education from Stanford University, an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the American University in Cairo, and a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.A. in Letters from the University of Oklahoma.
