We begin the fall season with enthralling public events in the East Bay and at the science center, filled with STEM exploration, discovery, and fun! Celebrate the spooky season with live spiders and snakes, examine Thanksgiving dinner under a microscope, celebrate Indigenous People Heritage Month, and more!

Join The Lawrence On-The-Go at the East Bay’s largest street festival, the 48th annual Solano Avenue Stroll. This event is full of art vendors, food, entertainment, and more. Visit our booth to engage your curiosity and explore hands-on science activities.

Join The Lawrence On-The-Go in Livermore for Science@Stockmen’s Park! This free monthly event brings together partners from across the Bay Area for hands-on science activities, demonstrations, music, food, and fun. September’s theme is Engineering Encounters. Find our booth to design, build, and test your creations and put your engineering skills to the test.

Join Science at Cal and The Lawrence Hall of Science for Caminos de la Ciencia, our event series held entirely in Spanish. Meet and hear from a UC Berkeley scientist, enjoy good food, and engage in hands-on activities with Lawrence Hall of Science.

Commemorate the spooky season with a celebration of misunderstood creatures! Come dressed in your Halloween costume and learn about our skittering and slithering friends from eight legs to no legs. Get up close and personal with our resident snakes in the Animal Discovery Zone and observe live spiders from UC Berkeley researchers. Go on a spider hunt in the Outdoor Nature Lab and experience more spider activities! Costumed guests get a free temporary tattoo of Pheena the Fin Whale from our Discovery Store.

Join The Lawrence On-The-Go at Oakland’s annual Día de los Muertos celebration! This vibrant festival brings over 100,000 people together to enjoy music, food, and activities, paying homage to the dead. Visit our booth to engage with hands-on science fun!

Celebrate National Native American Heritage Month in the Outdoor Nature Lab with ‘ottoy Initiative leaders Vincent Medina and Louis Trevino. On both Sundays, they will demonstrate how to create traditional dolls and boats and provide materials so participants can make their own to take home.

Get into the Thanksgiving spirit and help us pilot activities for our upcoming exhibition, Future of Food. Join The Lawrence and SF Microscopical Society for a close-up look at all your Thanksgiving favorites. Under the microscope, examine turkey, pie, and more. We will also learn about traditional Ohlone food and ingredients
