Join a small group of high school biology, environmental science, and integrated science teachers on August 4th for this FREE, virtual workshop.

This workshop offers:

  • Field-tested instructional materials that address specific biology and earth sciences standards through a lens of increasing wildfires, connections to forest ecology and succession, ecosystem management practices, and what we can do.
  • An understanding of how using data and modeling with students can support their explanations of this complex environmental phenomenon.
  • An immersive experience with the unit
  • Strategies for incorporating environmental justice and implementing trauma-informed instruction.

All participants walk away with full access to the field-tested, ready to teach materials. On August 5th there is an optional opportunity to join the unit designers to discuss implementation approaches and considerations.

This is a collaboration between the Bay Area Science project and the Museum of Paleontology’s Understanding Global Change. Our goal is to resource and empower California teachers to make science learning more relevant to our students’ lives.
