The Lawrence Hall of Science
The public science center of the University of California, Berkeley.
10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
On a visit to The Lawrence, students collaborate to investigate new ideas as they become scientists and engineers for a day.
We partner with school districts to support science learning. We offer district-wide elementary, middle, and high school programs, either virtually or in-person.
We collaborate with a range of partners to innovate in science education. Together, we go further.
Let’s look up close at the world—really close! Take a look at living bacteria inside yogurt and crystals growing before your eyes! Come try out devices that turn our smartphone cameras into microscopes. Ask questions of UC Berkeley scientists who are developing new ways of seeing the microscopic world, including scientists from STROBE, a National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center developing the microscopes of tomorrow!
