The Lawrence Hall of Science
The public science center of the University of California, Berkeley.
10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
On a visit to The Lawrence, students collaborate to investigate new ideas as they become scientists and engineers for a day.
We partner with school districts to support science learning. We offer district-wide elementary, middle, and high school programs, either virtually or in-person.
We collaborate with a range of partners to innovate in science education. Together, we go further.
A Big Thanks to all of you who responded when we asked you to make a difference in a young person’s life!
The Lawrence Hall of Science’s Summer Camps and Teen Research Programs offer young learners a unique summer experience—one that engages their minds in exploring, inventing and discovering the joy of science. Many of you have sent your own child to camp at The Lawrence, or even attended yourself. For Big Give, UC Berkeley’s annual 24-hour fundraising event, we asked: “Will you help us make this a reality for others in our community?”
By contributing to our Children’s Scholarship Fund during Big Give, you helped us provide need-based financial aid for students wishing to experience the excitement of our summer camp programs.
Individual donations are the primary source of funding for these scholarships. Over the past 10 years, the generosity of people like you has made summer science camp possible for over 500 young people in our community who otherwise would not have been able to attend.
Beyond our summer programs, this fund is also used to underwrite on-site and outreach programs in low-income communities, and subsidize field trips and visits for groups that serve at-risk and low-income youth.
Missed Big Give in 2022? You can still make a difference.
