Member Meetup – Peer Consultancies Sessions: 1 session Date and Time #1 Friday, October 16, 2026 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM PT Enrollment Required Please log in to check your access. Come together with other members of our professional learning community to network and form new connections! This Member Meetup will focus on helping each other work through “dilemmas” you’re experiencing in your work using a structured Consultancy Protocol adapted from the National School Reform Faculty (NSRF) and Gene Thompson-Grove as part of the Coalition of Essential Schools’ National Re:Learning Faculty Program. The meetup will be lightly facilitated by Lawrence Hall of Science team members with significant time in breakout rooms of 4-8 people. Depending on who shows up, we may offer those as job-alike breakouts! Who is this for? This is a meet up designed for those with individual memberships to the Lawrence’s professional learning platform and any staff/volunteers of member organizations. Do I need to have a dilemma/challenge in mind to attend? Absolutely not! For this consultancy to be effective, outside perspective is key, so even if you don’t have a challenge you’d like help working through, we welcome and need your input…come ready to ask probing questions and help others think expansively about their dilemma! No prior understanding of their dilemma or experience with consultancies necessary. What kind of dilemma could I bring to this space? For the purposes of this consultancy protocol, a dilemma has a very specific definition. A dilemma is “a puzzle, an issue that raises questions, an idea that seems to have conceptual gaps, something about process or product that you just can’t figure out.” Your dilemma should be something you care about and relates to an issue that does not rely on getting other people to change – in other words, your dilemma should be about your practice, beliefs, assumptions, behaviors, or actions. Consider the prompts in this protocol overview to become more familiar with dilemmas or help shape your dilemma in the form of a question in preparation for the meetup. If you require accommodation for a disability for effective communication (ASL interpreting/CART captioning, alternative media formats, etc.) or information about campus mobility access features in order to fully participate in this event, please contact us via email with as much advance notice as possible and at least 7-10 days in advance of the event.
