These projects, which include the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data derived from community-based studies, have proven to be highly effective in terms of increasing participants’ capacity for scientific thinking, and expanding recognition of science as a valuable tool for helping to address relevant ecological and social issues faced by their communities. One of EBAYS’ current areas of community-based research focus is lead contamination.
