Have you participated in the Lawrence Teen Research Programs before and want to give back? Do you love science and want to share that passion with other teens? Maybe you’re curious about teaching or science communication, or you’re highly organized and enjoy helping with logistics. Perhaps you’re the kind of person who gets big groups engaged and energized, or you have a knack for connecting with peers who need a little extra support. If this sounds like you, the TRP Summer Internship could be the perfect next step on your pathway.
This summer, we’ll bring together a team of 7–8 high school teen interns (entering grades 11 and 12) to join the TRP in a range of unique roles. Some interns will assist middle school instructors in our program tracks, while others will work closely with our Middle and High School Coordinators and Program Manager on logistics, activities, and other programmatic support. All of these opportunities will contribute to your personal and professional growth.
By the end of the program, you will create or strengthen your LinkedIn profile, and be invited to join the TRP LinkedIn group. This invite-only professional network connects you with TRP peers and staff—from high school through college, graduate studies, postdoctoral work, and into your early career—and can serve as a long-term support system designed to grow with you.
As a TRP Summer Intern, you will:
Food: Lunch is provided during TRP sessions (not during training), teen interns bring a water bottle and snacks from home
Stipend: $1200 for participating in all 5 weeks of programming and training
Training and Program Dates:
The TRP Summer Internship is open by invitation only to current 10th–12th graders who have participated in the Lawrence Teen Research Programs. These teens have already been recommended by staff and will receive a direct email from our team (thelawrenceteens@berkeley.edu) with an application link. If you are interested and do not know if you have been recommended, please reach out to thelawrenceteens@berkeley.edu with the name of a staff member from last summer who can recommend you. Applicants must be available during all of the training and program dates listed above. Transportation to and from the program is NOT provided.
