Making strong connections across a variety of learning contexts can support students in building deeper understandings of science ideas and practices. In this session, participants will build off of their understanding of three dimensional learning (as described in the Next Generation Science Standards) to strengthen those connections in their specific programming. Participants will be supported in: Identifying Disciplinary Core Ideas, Science and Engineering Practices, and Crosscutting Concepts that align to their context. Creating or revising experiences that engage their learners in three dimensional thinking and learning. Figuring out how to build off of and complement the learning that happens in classrooms in their community. Who is this workshop for? This workshop is designed for… Folks who facilitate learning outside of the classroom environment, Folks who manage educational programs and frontline staff, Folks who design learning experiences.
