Corporate Volunteers

The Lawrence has many opportunities for companies and organizations to take part in meaningful volunteer work and support our community. Corporate volunteers aid our mission to inspire and engage through science discovery and learning in ways that advance equity and opportunity, while building connections to their colleagues and to the Bay Area.

From facilitating science activities to special projects, we have lots of options for you and your team. Join us and make a difference while team-building and having fun!

Individual Volunteers

  • A great option for companies that provide matching dollars for employee volunteer time!

Group Volunteers for Special Projects
Half- and full-day opportunities are available. Some examples include: 

  • Environmental habitat preservation in the Outdoor Nature Lab 
  • Behind the scenes support in our Animal Discovery Zone
  • Materials preparation for summer camp activities

Group Volunteers for Special Events
Help facilitate science activities at one of our special events. Some examples include:

  • Summer Fundays (special events during the summer that encourage community partners to collaborate with us on science-related  activities that broaden participation and increase access. Join us to help visitors build their own boat or discover and observe bugs up close)
  • Annual New Year’s Event (Celebrate with us and our members and families with a Confetti Drop celebrating a year of science)
  • And many more themed events throughout the year.

Group Volunteers for Community Outreach

  • The Lawrence On-The-Go brings our hands-on science activities directly to schools and community centers across the Bay Area. We can work with you to bring a science event to your community as a volunteer opportunity!

Requirements

  • Have a group lead
  • Recruit a minimum of 10 individuals for Corporate groups 
  • Wear your company’s t-shirt/logo
  • Sign a Waiver Release 
  • Bring a Friend! (Every corporate volunteer can bring one other adult volunteer and up to three minors over 13 to volunteer)
